inspirational music video

This is by far one of my favourite videos o all time, just the simplicity of it being black and white real enhances the tone of the music and it just makes it seem so much darker. What is interesting about this video is that its not the only one for this song, Lana Del Rey had previously created a video for this song which was filmed, edited and directed by her. One of the aspects i find most interesting about this video is the focus on water, right from the begin we can see this water rippling affect and Lana Del Rey reflection on it and as the first melody fades out we suddenly get transported to this scene with a tall tattooed man and slicked back hair smoking next to a pool and it just bring this mafia 1950's bad boy aspect to that character and then we see Lana just saying down on the floor whilst the water from the pool reflects on her, a lot of the close up shots used seem to have been edited to mimic the surface of the water on the pool giving this voyeuristic and mysterious vibe to the video like a film noir movie. I also really like the underwater sequence when she's swimming with crocodiles, the way the film has been edited to seem sluggish makes it look more romantic.
