Smoke Scene Shoot
After the initial set backs I finally filmed the scene for the bridge of the song which involved Enola Gaye Smoke grenades. I used a Panasonic ac-ag90 and at first i did some test shoots to get familiar with the camera although as i was just leaving it on a tripod i just had to adjust the zoom and click the recording button. As i only had 2 smoke grenades i had to get the footage right the first time, there was no room for mistakes as smoke grenades are expensive and hard to get. Overall i was extremely pleased with how the smoke grenades looked and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of smoke they made, however my model found it extremely hard to keep her eyes opened the entire time as smoke kept hitting her face so you can see her pulling faces in the recordings. Another problem i had to deal with were the passersby, thankfully most of them waited till i finished shooting nevertheless there was a dog walker that came into frame towards the end of the film.

Filming Delays
Due to the props not being all bought at the same time i was unable to shoot everything back to back. I had to wait for each one of the props to come through the mail as well as costume.
A lot of the scenes had to be re-film as well due to the poor camera quality of my original footage which was another time consuming hurdle along with the lack of natural sunlight in the winter months.

Smoke Grenades
As the bridge is the darkest part of the song i decided that my artist would transition in the music video to embrace this dark side. After brainstorming a few idea i decided to stick with the same location so the fans wouldn't get confused as to why the location changed, instead she's going to remain lost in the woods but has now accepted her fait with her evil lover. To achieve that i made her costume head to toe black and got the idea to put a mask on her whilst watching The Purge, to give her a more sinister look.
Whilst browsing through tumblr i came a cross a few pictures of people holding smoke grenades and i thought it would make a great reference to her being lost as people often use smoke grenades to signal their location. The smoke will not only signify that she's lost, they will also be allude to her foggy morals as she gives into her lovers bad ways.

Music video ideas
As my artist inspiration is Lana Del Rey i really wanted to achieve the vintage look her videos are known for, it is highly likely she uses an 8mm camera to shoot her vintage clips in order to achieve the most realistic look possible, however i do not have access to one of those camera so instead i researched and found a way to achieve that same look purely by editing the video on premier pro.
Another idea i came up with is by using film burns as a transition between the shots in the vide, this has become somewhat conventional around the indie music scene with many indie artists such as Lana herself and Soko incorporating film burns into their videos in order to achieve a cinematic/vintage look to their videos. Once again this would have to be edited on premier pro by downloading some already made film burn overlays.

Location scouting
This is the location where the angel sequence will be filmed, In the beginning she will be sat on the small wall and the camera will follow her as she goes through the woods. This is sequence is meant to represent her loss of innocence as the she gets lost in the forest which is a metaphor for her thoughts and mind which eventually lead her into darkness as she gives in to her lovers sinful ways. The music video will be entirely filmed in these woods apart from the home videos which will be filmed in a collection of different places around England as they are my own videos from my day to day life

Ideas update
Music video:
The music video will begin with my model wearing a white dress standing on a hill and looking out beyond the camera shot, it will then cut to some home videos which will be filmed in an app called "Camcorder" on my iPhone which makes the videos look vintage. These home videos will be filmed by me on my own days out to make it look more realistic and from a first person perspective. As the chorus comes on the video will change to a dark room where we can only see the models face and then it cuts back to home videos of the two lovers laying on a sofa. The video then cuts to my model wearing angel wings sitting on a wall in a forest, she will then get up and start walking and the camera will track her movements until she reaches a long path, the video will then cut to some home videos and then on the second chorus it goes back to the dark room where only her face is brightly light.. The video then goes back to the woods where we see the model wonder around the forest completely lost, she goes through what seems to be an arch made out of branches but it only leads her deeper into the woods until she ends up right back where she was and once again more home videos but this time of two older people arguing, the arguing will be played in the background of the song, in the line "everything you do is elusive, too, even your honey dew". On the third chorus there will be a mix of fast passed home videos and the model wondering around the forest and then on the ending line she finds the way out, there's a flash and she looses her wings and runs away through a field

Digipack:
Much of the digipack will be made up of images of the artist and i will be using intertextuality in the cover as the image will be inspired by the poster for the 1962 classic movie "Lolita". There will be a dominance of the colours pink and red and the images will be faded to give them a vintage look often associated with Lana Del Reys work. I will also be including images of candy to further develop a child like innocent image but by using voyeuristic camera angles i will be sexualising something thats seemingly innocent which will play on the sexual selling point of the music industry. The colour scheme will match the name of the album "Into the blues" by contrasting a strong bubblegum pink with a baby blue and this colour scheme will be seen all through out my work to create a synergy between all of my artists media products

Digipack cover mock up
This is a pre production photoshoot to test what camera shot and lighting angles i would use for my actual photoshoot. My initial idea was that the model would be facing forward however ended up choosing a sideways shot as the cover mock up as the lighting accentuated the models facial features and the afro hair style dominates the picture which i think makes a really interesting contrast to the fur of the jacket.
For the cover of the album i wanted the colour scheme to be predominantly pink and green, however i wasn't able to buy a green fur coat therefor i used my own brown fur coat for the hotshot in the hopes that i could edit it in photoshop. To achieve the lighting that i wanted i had to do the photoshoot in the chroma matt curtain room where there is no natural light rather than setting up the green screen. Either way the position i wanted the lights in would still cause shadows therefor i would never have a clean background so to achieve that i had to use the magic wand tool to remove the background. in order to change a specific area such a her hair and the coat i used the Laso tool and edited the hue and saturation. To finish the edit process i used the instagram filter "Gingham" at an intensity level 56 plus edited the brightness, saturation and fade levels.

Digipack ideas
My DigiPack is going an intertextual reference to the movie poster for Lolita. A movie I think my artists music can be easily associated with and a movie my audience would know thanks to its cult status.
My artist will be sitting in front of a desk wearing a fur coat and some overalls, her hair will be in an afro style with some heart shaped sunglasses on top of her head. My model has braces which makes another reference to Lolita. She will either have candy around her to demonstrate her youth and innocence or will be blowing bubble gum. The colours theme will be brown, pink and red.

Synergy Marketing Campaign
Marina and the Diamonds
Marina Dimandis has always used Synergy in her work to build her brand. Her latest album is called Froot and for the music video for the single of the same title she is wearing pineapple earrings whilst in the album cover she is wearing strawberry earrings this is a smart and seemingly effortless way of self advertisement, the "froot" theme once again makes an appearance in her music video for Blue where she is dancing behind a counter made out of fruit. Her website also features a number of fruits which are interactive and take you to different pages, another synergy technique she uses is the use of colour schemes present in her album art and website which are identical in art work, background and font. Id like to apply this same level of self advertisement by featuring the same accessories from my album cover on the music video and possibly selling them as part of my merchandise.

Synergy Marketing Campaign
Halsey
Theres a clear continuity of colours in Halseys music videos, album and media platforms. As this is her debut album she could be trying to create an greater impact with her use of colours especially because the colours blue and pink have become extremely popular in modern music videos with several other artist such as Ariana Grande, Drake and Justin Bieber embracing the colour combination so she could be trying to target the same audience as them. Furthermore her hair colour seems to be the main embrace of these colours with the background being the opposite colour to whatever wig she has on. For my website and Album cover i will be using these 2 colours too and will make sure that both the album and website share pictures from the same photoshoot. Another point is that her homepage image is interactive and if you klick on it you get hyperlinked to another page where you can buy her album or box set. I want to make my website images interactive and like Halsey i want to include a personal message from the artist so the fans feel special.

Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande has always been associated with the girly girl image which she is embracing for her new album and music. There's a continuous embrace of the colours purple and pink and her infamous ponytail hairstyle that has somewhat become her trademark makes a constant appearance through out her video and every photo on her website. There is a clear product placement at the beginning of the video where she takes out a Samsung Note 5 and writes focus on me which shows off some of the features of the phone whilst linking back to her music and also signs ag at the end which stands for her initials.

Location and set design
Due to the video being mostly made up of home video I want it to resemble day to day life so many of the locations will be personal and places i frequent or have been to.
For the other scenes i want it to be dark and moody so my set locations will be:
- A dark room with no natural lighting
- The woods
- A cemetery
- A run down tunnel/street during sunset
The parts of the music video that aren't home videos will mostly be filmed in a dark room with no natural lighting and instead will have a light that rotates around the models face which will create shadows and change the way her face looks
The other possible location is in the woods during sundown which will add an unsteady and dark mood to my music video that will enhance the lyrics and will juxtapose with the happy and adventurous feeling of the camcorder videos. One problem we might run into is the sun setting quickly during winter time which wouldn't give me much time to film
The eerie and ominous feel of cemetery during winter time would work beautifully well with the melancholic lyrics and background note that plays through out the song. However id have to check the legality of filming in a graveyard.
As part of the home video sequence i want to include a trip to London because a lot of Lana Del Reys music is about opulence and old Hollywood, unfortunately going to Hollywood to film isn't an option so London is the second best city to do it as it is culturally relevant and central Londoners are known for their luxurious lifestyles.
